Legal Aid Chicago has created a helpline to get assist you with applying for Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) benefits.

Legal Aid Chicago has created a helpline to assist you with applying for Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) benefits. This includes SNAP (food assistance), Medicaid (health coverage), and Cash Assistance (for families and for the aged, blind, or disabled).

The public charge test does not consider receipt of P-EBT benefits. Using P-EBT benefits will not impact a parent or child’s immigration status.
