Legal Aid Chicago has created a helpline to assist you with applying for Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) benefits. This includes SNAP (food assistance), Medicaid (health coverage), and Cash Assistance (for families and for the aged, blind, or disabled).
The public charge test does not consider receipt of P-EBT benefits. Using P-EBT benefits will not impact a parent or child’s immigration status.
UPDATE: Legal Aid Chicago’s helpline call also help you apply for P-EBT! For more information about this cash benefit for households with school-aged children, click here.
Call (312) 347-8342 for help.
You will leave your phone number and name. You won’t have to wait on hold. Legal Aid Chicago will call you back and help you apply for benefits over the phone.
Prepare to apply by…
